PAL flies to Medina for Hajj pilgrimage
Aviation Updates Philippines – Philippine Airlines (PAL) has officially kicked off its Hajj operations for 2023, with the first flight departing from Manila to Medina on June 3. The flight, PR8654, carried 297 Muslim Filipinos who will be joining the annual Islamic pilgrimage.

The flight took off at 12:12 PM and is expected to arrive in Medina at 10:57 PM, local time. The aircraft, an Airbus A330, is configured with 363 seats and has a flying time of approximately 10 hours and 45 minutes.
The flight deck crew for PR8654 is composed of Capt. Peter Paul Basa, First Officer Herminio Paulo Disini, Second Officers Zeres Mago and Paolo Padla. The 10-member cabin crew roster is led by Flight Purser Aries del Rosario.

PAL President and COO Capt. Stanley Ng, National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) Secretary Guiling Mamondiong, NCMF Executive Director Tahir Ladisan, Jr. and Special Asst. to the President Anton Lagdameo were present at today's flight send-off at NAIA T1.
This is the first of several PAL Hajj flights that will carry Filipinos taking part in the pilgrimage, a spiritual gathering of Muslims from all over the world. PAL is the only Philippine carrier that offers Hajj flights.
