Philippine Air Force honors AirAsia Philippines with Outstanding Stakeholder Award

AirAsia Philippines was recognized for its collaborative efforts with the PAF during national emergencies, helping the government respond to calamities and disasters. AirAsia Philippines’ Allstars and its 99 Air Force Reservists have been actively supporting various activities through the  alwaysREDy: anytime, anywhere AirAsia's Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability umbrella program.

The awarding ceremony which happens to be part of PAF’s 74th Founding Anniversary on Tuesday was attended by AirAsia Philippines CEO Ricky Isla and Air Force Reserve Command Commanded Major General Edward Libago at the AirAsia RedPoint Office in NAIA T3 was also broadcasted virtually.

AirAsia Philippines CEO Ricky Isla said, “We are humbled and grateful as the only airline that was given this recognition by the Philippine Air Force. This acknowledgement is a testament to the fact that, as long as we come together and stay united with a mission to serve, nothing is impossible.”

“We should always be reminded of Andres Bonifacio’s heroism and love of country. For AirAsia, educating not only our guests but also the entire community on the culture of readiness, and responding to the call of ‘Bayanihan’ anytime, anywhere is our relentless mission. And it doesn’t take a tumultuous task to be a hero. These days, just by doing your share in nation building and recovery such as getting yourself vaccinated against COVID-19 is more than enough.”

Major General Libago said, “We are proud to have partnered with our modern-day AirAsia Philippines heroes. The Air Force truly recognizes their contributions not only during calamities but also in nation building this time of pandemic. We admire you as you manage to wear different hats as airline workers and as volunteers. With our partnership we were able to help our countrymen, and be of service to God, and our country. I guess if our Bonifacio is alive, he will applaud our efforts. After All, his love for this country was immeasurable.”

Also awarded during the event are Department of Transportation Secretary Art Tugade, Mr. Manny Pangilinan, Mr. Francis Kong, Prof. Dan Saguil, Land Bank of the Philippines, and the Department of Public Works and Highways.

AirAsia Philippines’ First Air Lift Wing was recently awarded as among the best reservist units by the Philippine Air Force.
