Korean Air wins Airline of the Year at Incheon Airport Awards
Aviation Updates Philippines – Korean Air took first place at the 5th Incheon Airport Awards hosted by the Incheon International Airport Corporation for the second consecutive year.
The Incheon Airport Awards recognize the most outstanding operators for their efforts to improve operations and services at Incheon International Airport. Operators were evaluated in six categories -- service satisfaction, safety culture, check-in convenience, flight punctuality, operation services, and smart services -- from January 1 to December 31, 2020.
Korean Air’s Incheon Passenger Traffic Office took strong, preemptive measures to protect employees and customers since the outbreak of COVID-19 through the Care First program.
Promoting touchless travel, Korean Air has increased Self Service Check-in (SSCI) usage at Incheon Airport throughout 2020, recording up to a 67.1% usage rate in the fourth quarter, which contributed to Incheon Airport's position as a smart airport.
The airline also operated more than 70 chartered flights to repatriate overseas Koreans from Wuhan, Italy, Peru, Russia and Vietnam last year, as well as chartered flights for company and government business trips.
HA Man Kee, Managing Vice President and Head of Incheon Airport Passenger Traffic Office, commented, "This award is an achievement that all of our employees have earned together despite the difficult situation due to COVID-19. I would like to express my sincere gratitude not only to colleagues at our office, but also to all the other departments that have worked together with us. We will always continue our best efforts to achieve 'Safety first Service best."
