Philippines AirAsia extends flight suspension until April 30
Aviation Updates Philippines – In line with the Philippine government's 15-day extension of the enhanced community quarantine in Luzon, Philippines AirAsia says all its domestic and international flights remain canceled until April 30, 2020.
The airline made the announcement per AirAsia's latest travel advisory dated April 7, 2020.
"Following the Philippine government’s directive of extending the enhanced community quarantine period in Luzon, AirAsia is canceling all domestic and international Z2 flights until 30 April 2020," the low-cost airline said.
According to AirAsia, affected guests will be notified of these cancellations through SMS and e-mail. Furthermore, the airline encourages its passengers to update their contact details through the 'Manage Booking' function of the AirAsia website.
AirAsia now offers unlimited flight change (rebooking) and credit account options for passengers who booked their flights on or before March 22, 2020, with a travel date of up to May 31, 2020.
"AirAsia assures that the safety and wellbeing of our guests and Allstars is our top priority. AirAsia is complying with advice and regulations from the local government, civil aviation authorities, global and local health agencies, including the World Health Organization."
Meanwhile, the airline continues to monitor developments on the COVID-19 pandemic in the Philippines. Flight operations are expected to restart once the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Disease (IATF-EID) approves.
