Cathay Dragon suspends Clark, Davao flights
Aviation Updates Philippines – Cathay Pacific, through its regional subsidiary Cathay Dragon, released a travel advisory indicating a temporary suspension of several flights worldwide, given the decreasing travel demand caused by the currently on-going 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) outbreak.
As of February 6, 2020, Cathay Pacific and Cathay Dragon will jointly cut 30 percent of its overall worldwide capacity, until March 28, 2020, to respond to the falling demand. The vast capacity-cut mostly comes from China, where the reduction affects 90 percent of all offered seats.
Flights to London Gatwick, Rome, Washington DC, Newark, Male, Davao, Clark, Jeju, Taichung, and all mainland China cities except for Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, and Xiamen will be affected by the reduction of capacity.
The Hong Kong-based airline offers refunds of the flight ticket costs if a passenger has booked directly through the airline. Otherwise, affected passengers may contact their respective travel agents to assist in the process.
For flights specifically for Davao and Clark, Cathay Dragon guests may opt to refund any part of your journey that has not been flown. Refunds may be requested through the airline's Manage Booking function on its website.
