Cebgo will use its 78-seat ATR 72-600 aircraft for the new route. It will fly three times weekly from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Domestic Terminal 4 every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday.

"We are excited to begin operations in one of the most beautiful islands in the Philippines–Marinduque," said Alexander Lao, President and CEO of Cebgo, "It takes only about an hour to fly between Manila and Marinduque—in contrast to the eight hour trip by ferry and land today. Regular flights will allow business to prosper and the island's tourism sector to boom."

The airline executive accentuated on the inefficient transportation to and from Marinduque since it takes more than eight hours to travel via land and sea. Lao said this turboprop service will lessen the travel time to up to 87.5 percent.

"Marinduque is the 37th domestic destination of Cebu Pacific, and often mentioned as an idyllic destination for a tropical getaway by travel writers," it said.

For the launching of the route, Cebgo is offering an introductory fare of Php499 from March 6 to 13, 2019 with a travel period set from April 1 to October 26, 2019.

The Cebu Pacific Group route network stands firm at 37 domestic destinations and 26 international destinations operating a combined fleet of six ATR 72-500 and 12 ATR 72-600 aircraft for its inter-island operations, 35 Airbus A320-200 aircraft, seven Airbus A321-200 and one Airbus A321neo aircraft, and eight Airbus A330-300 aircraft for its long-haul and regional operations.
