PAL Express considers flights to Saipan

Aviation Updates Philippines - PAL Express, the national flag carrier's sister airline, has already set its eyes on launching flights to Saipan, an island-territory in the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas.

According to PAL Express, "Our goal is to address the clamor for new routes in order to best serve the needs of the market. As we tap new markets and build on existing ones, we aim to ensure connectivity across the route network of the PAL Group by providing the required flight frequencies and schedules."

PAL Express expects its new flights will attract Saipan tourists to the Philippines, or connect within Philippine Airlines' extensive route network. The airline targets over 35% of Northern Marianas' population to fly with the airline.

The airline plans to utilize its bi-class 156-seat Airbus A320-200 aircraft to operate the planned Manila-Saipan route twice weekly.

PAL Express currently operates 12 Airbus A320-200, 4 Bombardier Dash 8 Q300, and 5 Bombardier Dash 8 Q400. PAL Express operates domestic flights to and from Manila, Cebu, Davao, and Zamboanga.
