Boeing delivers 75th 747 to Lufthansa
Aviation Updates Philippines - Boeing Company, which manufactures one of the best-selling planes, delivered their 75th 747 to Lufthansa last April 30, 2014. It is the airline's 13th Boeing 747-8I in service.
The Boeing 747 made its commercial debut in 1970, on Pan Am’s New York-London route. The first wide-body aircraft ever produced, it soon earned the nickname “Queen of the Skies”. The latest incarnation, the 747-8 Intercontinental first entered service in 2012.
Lufthansa is the launch customer of the Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental jetliner and took delivery of the plane last April 2012. Lufthansa is also one of the customers of the Boeing 747-100, delivered in 1970 and Boeing 747-200F.
Currently, they are flying their 747s to 22 destinations in 10 countries.
