To continue to support a surge in travel demand, Scoot will be increasing flights while resuming and introducing new routes throughout its network.
The budget subsidiary of Singapore Airlines (SIA) announced it will launch twice-weekly flights each to two destinations in Indonesia – Lombok (October 16) and Makassar (October 24). Additionally, Scoot will also resume twice-weekly flights each to Yogyakarta (October 15) and Pekanbaru (October 24). The added flights will increase Scoot’s existing network in Indonesia to eight cities.
North Asia – Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan
With the easing of border and travel restrictions to Hong Kong, Japan, and Taiwan, Scoot has announced it will mount more flights to North Asia.
From the end of October, Scoot will increase the flight frequencies to Jeju, South Korea from thrice-weekly to five-times weekly and Osaka from five-times weekly to daily. Scoot will also mount seasonal non-stop flights from Singapore to Sapporo, Japan between November and February 2023.
Scoot will also increase flights to Tokyo, Sapporo, and Seoul via Taipei. From the end of October, Scoot will increase the frequency of flights on its Singapore-Taipei-Tokyo flights to daily, Singapore-Taipei-Sapporo with thrice-weekly flights, and Singapore-Taipei-Seoul with five-times weekly. Combined, Scoot will offer a total of 18-times weekly flights to Taipei.
Additionally, Scoot currently operates four-times weekly flights to Hong Kong, daily non-stop flights each to Tokyo-Narita and Seoul-Incheon.
Scoot also stated it will deploy its recently unveiled Pokemon themed jet – the “Pikachu Jet” – on select flights to Tokyo and Seoul during the month of November including the Singapore-Tokyo, Singapore-Taipei-Tokyo, and Singapore-Taipei- Seoul routes.
Mainland China
Scoot also announced more route resumptions to Mainland China.
Since September 26, the airline resumed weekly flights to Fuzhou and increased the number of flights to Nanjing to twice-weekly. During the month, Scoot will resume flights to Hangzhou (October 3), Zhengzhou (October 12), and Wuhan (October 13) while increasing the flights to Tianjin to twice weekly from October 11.
Scoot reports it will resume almost half of its pre-pandemic network in China by mid-October. Prior to the pandemic, the airline served 21 destinations in the country.
“North Asia has always been an important region for us, with many exciting destinations to satisfy our customers’ wanderlust,” said Leslie Thng, CEO, Scoot.
“With travel demand remaining buoyant since the relaxation of travel restrictions, Scoot is excited to connect even more travellers to the region, including Greater China,” Thng added.
