Singapore’s budget airline Scoot to launch flights to London

Singapore-based budget airline Scoot will expand its presence in Europe with the addition of London to its network – its first destination in the United Kingdom (UK).

According to Scoot – the budget subsidiary of Singapore Airlines (SIA) – the carrier will launch new flights connecting Singapore and London-Gatwick via Bangkok-Suvarnabhumi starting December 16. Scoot will deploy Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft on the route.

By late March 2022, the airline plans to serve the route on a thrice-weekly schedule.

With the announcement of the new Singapore-Bangkok-London flights, Scoot will be the lone low-cost carrier (LCC) to operate non-stop flights between Bangkok and London.

London will be the third destination in Europe on Scoot’s network, as the airline currently operates flights to Athens, Greece and Berlin, Germany.

Along with the stopover in Bangkok, Scoot currently operates daily flights to Bangkok. The London flights will also complement its parent airline Singapore Airlines’ current flights between Singapore and London-Heathrow.

“The progressive relaxation of international borders presents new opportunities for airlines and travelers alike. With the ability to now travel quarantine-free between the United Kingdom and Thailand, Scoot is excited to introduce the only low-cost option between Bangkok and London offering our unique combination of great value and great experience with a touch of Scootitude,” said Scoot’s Chief Executive Officer Campbell Wilson.
