Cebu Pacific Ceases Dammam Operation
Aviation Updates Philippines - The Philippines' largest low-cost carrier, Cebu Pacific Air, ceases flights to Dammam, Saudi Arabia on March 29, 2015, after receiving low demand of passengers between Manila and the said destination. According to airlineroute.net, Cebu Pacific only flies two weekly between Manila and Dammam, instead of the scheduled three weekly flights.
Despite large volume of Filipinos living in Saudi Arabia and massive marketing strategies, Cebu Pacific still gets low number of passengers. The carrier operates an Airbus A330-300 which can carry up to 436 passengers, but only 10 percent (estimated) of the seating capacity has been occupied.
Cebu Pacific Air first flew to Dammam on September 4, 2014 which was followed by the launching of flights to Sydney on September 9, 2014. Aside from both destinations, the carrier operates long-haul flights to Riyadh, Dubai, Kuwait and Sydney using its Airbus A330-300.
Cebu Pacific's Dammam flights depart Manila every Monday, Thursday and Saturday at 9:55pm, and arrive in Dammam at 2:40am the next day. The return flight departs Dammam every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday at 4:10am, and arrives in Manila at 6:35pm.

Given the choice, most passengers would rather fly Saudia or one of the other Gulf carriers over Cebu Pacific. The principal reason: Cebu Pacific has no IFE and its in flight service is awful!
