AirAsia Philippines readies for travel surge during Holy Week and summer

AirAsia Philippines is prepared to handle the expected increase in passengers for Holy Week and summer travel.

The airline has bolstered its team with additional mechanics and ground staff to promote faster aircraft turnaround and maintain a positive on-time performance record. Self-check-in kiosks at NAIA Terminals 2 and 3 offer additional convenience for departing passengers.

AirAsia assures travelers that steps have been taken to avoid overbooking during the peak season. However, the airline encourages passengers to book their flights in advance for a smoother travel experience.

First Officer Steve Dailisan, who concurrently serves as AirAsia Philippines’ Head of Communications and Public Affairs, stated:

We would like to assure that everyone will be able to fly safely and conveniently during the holidays as we also understand the importance of Holy Week to most of us. On top of the current manpower, we also have staff on standby who can be tapped to help during peak hours.

While popular destinations like Boracay, Cebu, Panglao, and Puerto Princesa are expected to be crowded, AirAsia Philippines encourages travelers to consider alternative options such as Davao, Roxas City, Iloilo, and Kalibo. These destinations boast a diverse range of summer activities and attractions.

Dailisan explained:

Most of the locals from these destinations are traveling outbound during the Holy Week and the summer, which decongests most of their tourist attractions. This offers an advantage for guests coming from Metro Manila as they will be able to enjoy their vacation minus the crowd.

To maintain safety, AirAsia Philippines strongly advises the public only to book flights through the official channels: airasia.com and the AirAsia MOVE app (formerly airasia Superapp), or use registered sales partners. The airline warns against booking through social media platforms.
