AirSWIFT cancels flights due to thick haze in El Nido

AirSWIFT Airlines announced the cancellation of several flights to and from El Nido, Palawan today, citing thick haze and reduced visibility as the reason. The cancellations affect flights scheduled for January 10, 2024, impacting destinations such as Caticlan, Panglao, and Manila.

“To our valued passengers, we regret to inform you that we are cancelling the following January 10,2024 flights due to thick haze in El Nido Palawan causing consequential effect on visibility,” AirSWIFT said in a travel advisory.

Affected flights include:

  • T6 410 – El Nido to Caticlan
  • T6 411 – Caticlan to El Nido
  • T6 610 – El Nido to Panglao
  • T6 611 – Panglao to El Nido
  • T6 153 – El Nido to Manila
  • T6 159 – El Nido to Manila
  • T6 143 – El Nido to Manila
  • T6 151 – El Nido to Manila
  • T6 156 – Manila to El Nido
  • T6 157 – El Nido to Manila

The airline has diverted several flights originally bound for El Nido to Puerto Princesa International Airport. These include:

  • T6 130 – Manila to El Nido
  • T6 337 – Cebu to El Nido
  • T6 211 – Clark to El Nido
  • T6 146 – Manila to El Nido

Passengers affected by the cancellations have been offered several options:

  • Rebook their flight via AirSWIFT’s website (subject to seat availability)
  • Receive a full refund for the affected flight segment
  • Opt for a Travel Fund valid for two years
  • Contact AirSWIFT directly for assistance through their hotline or email

No information was provided regarding the cause of the thick haze or the expected duration of the cancellations. AirSWIFT advised passengers to check their flight status and contact the airline for any updates.
