San Miguel partners with PAL for COVID-19 logistics

Aviation Updates Philippines – Philippine Airlines transported Wednesday 40,000 sets of 'highly essential medical gear' from Guangzhou to Manila. San Miguel Corporation chartered a Boeing 777-300ER to deliver these types of equipment.

PAL confirmed flight PR-383 from Guangzhou arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport carrying 21,387 kilograms. The medical cargo aboard were positioned and distributed in the passenger cabin and the cargo hold.

"Philippine Airlines transported 40,000 sets of highly essential medical gear (hazmat suits and goggles) from Guangzhou to Manila via a chartered flight utilizing the Boeing 777," PAL Spokesperson Cielo Villaluna said.

RP-C7776 operated the Manila-Guangzhou-Manila sector. PR-382 departed from NAIA at 4:26 am local time and arrived at the Chinese city at 6:30 am local time. After almost five hours of turnaround time, PR-383 departed back at 11:04 am local time and arrived in the Philippines at 12:56 pm local time.

Amid systemwide flight suspensions due to the enforcement of the enhanced community quarantine in Luzon, PAL has been operating sweeper/repatriation and cargo-only flights to crucial domestic and international destinations.
