According to Circular No. 27 dated March 6, 2020, Kuwait's DGCA declared that temporary suspension of entry for travelers and nationals from Bangladesh, Philippines, India, Sri Lanka, Syria, Lebanon, and Egypt effective immediately until a week after.

The cancellation of flights to these countries was recommended by Kuwaiti health authorities to further protect the state from the rapidly increasing effects of COVID-19. The Kuwaiti government, so far, is the first country to impose a travel ban to the Philippines.

Kuwait currently has 58 reported cases of the new virus. However, the state still has not reported any deaths nor critical cases.

Yesterday, the Philippines' Department of Health (DOH) reported its fourth and fifth cases of the COVID-19. According to a report from Rappler, the Secretary of Health Francisco Duque III personally announced, through a press conference, the new emerging cases of the disease.

The fourth case was a 48-year-old Filipino male who came from Japan and arrived in the Philippines last week while the fifth case was a 62-year-old Filipino who did not have any foreign travel itineraries. The fifth case marks the first local transmission of the disease.

The latest data from China's National Health Commission showed 102,044 total cases and 3,494 fatalities reported globally, as of March 5, 2020. Presently, the Republic of Iran reported the highest number of new cases at a staggering 1,234 confirmed infections with 124 deaths.
