Davao International Airport (DIA) remains open and operational despite ongoing demonstrations in the city, according to a public advisory issued by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP).

While all commercial flights are proceeding as scheduled, passengers are advised to arrive at the airport well in advance of their flight times to account for potential delays caused by traffic congestion.

Engr. Rex Obcena, Acting Civil Aviation Area Manager – Area XI, confirmed that the airport’s exit gate has been partially reopened after barricades were removed. However, authorities are continuing to monitor the situation closely.

Several airlines have issued travel advisories to passengers with flights to and from Davao, offering flexible options for those who wish to postpone their travel plans.

Cebu Pacific is offering free rebooking and travel funds to passengers on select flights scheduled to depart from Davao on August 26, 2024.

Philippine Airlines (PAL) is also offering passengers flexible options including travel credits, rebooking, and refunds. PAL advises passengers to allow extra time for travel to the airport due to traffic congestion near DIA caused by road closures and checkpoints.

Both airlines encourage passengers to check the status of their flights through their respective websites and update their contact details to receive timely notifications on flight updates.

The CAAP assures the public that it is working closely with authorities to ensure the safety and security of all passengers at Davao International Airport.
