American Airlines to launch first-ever service to Brisbane, Australia

American Airlines announced today that it will be launching new service to Brisbane, Australia, starting in October 27, 2024. This marks the first time the airline will offer regularly scheduled flights to Brisbane, and it will be the longest nonstop flight in American's network.

The new service will operate daily from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport on American's newly designed Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, featuring 51 Flagship Suite seats and 32 Premium Economy seats.

American's Senior Senior Vice President of Network and Schedule Planning, Brian Znotins, said:

American is thrilled to grow our international network to give customers more ways to escape the cold next winter. Together with Qantas, customers can enjoy more ways to explore new destinations across one of the most comprehensive networks connecting the United States and the South Pacific.

Brisbane and the state of Queensland are known for their beautiful beaches, world-famous zoos, and vibrant cultural scene. This new service will make it easier for travelers from the United States to experience all that this region has to offer.

Expanding the American-Qantas partnership

The joint business between American and Qantas continues to offer customers one of the most comprehensive networks connecting North America and Australia and New Zealand.

Next winter, the partnership will offer services from Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, and Vancouver, Canada, to four major gateways in Australia and New Zealand: Auckland, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney.

As part of the American–Qantas partnership, customers will be able to connect to more than 200 destinations across the U.S., and nearly 70 destinations across Australia, New Zealand, and the South Pacific — more than any other partnership.

Tickets available soon

Tickets for the new service to Brisbane will be available for purchase starting February 5 on aa.com and the American Airlines mobile app.

This announcement marks a significant expansion in American Airlines’ service, providing more options for travelers and strengthening connections between the United States and the South Pacific.
