The top 20 safest low-cost airlines for 2024, in order, are: Jetstar, easyJet, Ryanair, Wizz Air, Norwegian, Frontier, Vueling, Vietjet, Southwest, Volaris, flydubai, AirAsia Group, Cebu Pacific, Sun Country, Spirit, Westjet, JetBlue, Air Arabia, Indigo, and Eurowings.

The selection criteria for the top 20 safest low-cost airlines include incident records over the past two years, crash records over the past five years, results of audits conducted by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), EU banned lists, and fleet age. Editor-in-Chief Geoffrey Thomas congratulated Cebu Pacific on the achievement, stating:

Cebu Pacific has become a standout operation with a focus on operational safety, delivering low-cost travel to tens of millions and the latest Airbus aircraft.

Cebu Pacific, which commenced services in March 1996, initially operated only domestic flights but launched international operations in November 2001. Today, it flies to 64 tourist and business destinations within Asia and operates 84 Airbus aircraft.

Cebu Pacific was the first local airline to introduce e-ticketing, prepaid excess baggage, and seat selection in the Philippines. It now operates a fleet of A320 family aircraft, along with larger A330s and new A330-900s. Once all the A330-900s are delivered, the airline will have 16 of these aircraft. Cebu Pacific has 37 aircraft on order, including the A321XLR, which will give the airline extra range in the 240-seat segment of the market to open up more destinations.

Commenting on the airline's future, Mr. Thomas said:

The A330-900s and A321XLRs will open up a huge range of possibilities for Cebu Pacific.

This recognition underscores Cebu Pacific's commitment to safety and its continuous efforts to provide affordable travel options to the public.
