Teleport, the logistics venture seeded by Capital A Berhad, has taken a significant stride in consolidating its position as the market leader in air cargo volume across Southeast Asia with the induction of its first Airbus A321 Freighter (A321F) aircraft.
The addition of the A321F to its air logistics fleet is expected to enhance its palletized capacity and reach 160 cities in the Asia-Pacific region, including key destinations in the Philippines.
Teleport, founded just five years ago, has experienced rapid growth in the past two years, attributing its success to three core advantages.
Firstly, the company operates the largest air logistics network in Southeast Asia, utilizing the surplus belly space of 204 wide and narrow-body AirAsia passenger aircraft.
Secondly, it employs a full digitization and data-driven approach to efficiently coordinate end-to-end e-commerce deliveries.
Lastly, Teleport continuously strengthens its services by establishing deep third-party airline relationships, enabling seamless transportation of goods to over 80 destinations in Southeast Asia.

Tony Fernandes, CEO of Capital A Berhad, congratulated Teleport on the milestone, emphasizing its significance in validating the group’s diversification and growth strategy as a value-driven, low-cost, high-quality aviation and travel group.
Fernandes also highlighted the synergies between Teleport and other businesses under Capital A, positioning the company as a reliable delivery partner for entities within the group, such as the Superapp.
The A321F, with 24 containerized positions on both the main and lower decks, has a maximum payload capacity of 27,000 kgs, making it suitable for carrying various cargo types, including e-commerce parcels, express and small parcels, large volume cargo, and dangerous goods.
Teleport’s future plans include expanding its A321F fleet to ten aircraft within the next 18 months, with a particular focus on servicing key industrial destinations in the Philippines, including Davao.
“The Philippines is where we see Teleport having very big operations, although AirAsia Philippines is currently handling all of Teleport’s work. Some of the ten aircraft will be invested in the Philippines, which also happens to be our number one route, where our volume in the whole region is,” Chareonwongsak added.
With the first A321F based in Kuala Lumpur, Teleport aims to leverage its strategic location and 5-hour flight range to access over 80 destinations across Southeast Asia and 80 more key cities in the Asia Pacific.
This expansion is expected to provide a significant boost to the air cargo capabilities within the region, benefitting businesses and consumers alike.
