Qatar Airways has recently announced that it will resume flights to Davao from Doha, with the service starting on April 1, 2023. The airline last served the city in 2020 prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Davao will be the airline’s fourth destination in the Philippines, after Manila, Clark, and Cebu.
The resumption of flights to Davao was revealed at the ITB Berlin 2023, the world’s largest international travel and tourism trade show.
Qatar Airways also unveiled plans to add seven new destinations to its global route network this year, including Chittagong, Juba, Kinshasa, Lyon, Medan, Toulouse, and Trabzon.
Additionally, the airline will resume flights to 11 international destinations, namely Beijing, Birmingham, Buenos Aires, Casablanca, Davao, Marrakesh, Nice, Osaka, Phnom Penh, Ras Al-Khaimah, and Tokyo Haneda.

The triangular Doha-Cebu-Davao flight will be operated by a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner and will fly every Saturday.
Flight QR-936 will depart from Doha at 3:05 AM local time and arrive in Cebu at 5:55 PM local time. After a 90-minute stopover in Cebu, it will depart at 7:25 PM local time and land in Davao at 8:30 PM local time. The final leg of the flight will depart from Davao at 10:30 PM local time and arrive in Doha at 3:55 AM local time.
It’s worth noting that Qatar Airways launched weekly flights to Davao on June 18, 2019, but operated via Clark back then. The airline’s decision to resume direct flights to Davao indicates its confidence in the city’s economic potential and its commitment to providing more travel options for passengers.
