Flight TV-9833 was scheduled to operate a flight between Chongqing and Nyingchi.

An official statement from the airline, which was posted via the Chinese microblogging site Weibo, says that the flight crew observed an "abnormality" during take-off and aborted the procedure.

Videos, CCTV footage, and photos posted on Weibo showed passengers running away from the burning fuselage of the Airbus A319 aircraft. The aircraft was 9.5 years old and was delivered to the airline in November 2012.

All 113 passengers and nine crew members evacuated the aircraft. However, authorities from Chongqing airport said more than 40 individuals were brought to the hospital.
