Flights cancelled as Typhoon Odette lands in PH

Aviation Updates Philippines – Several flights are already cancelled as Typhoon Odette (International: Rai) continues to threaten the Philippines this week.

The typhoon is now reported to have maximum sustained winds of 150 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 185 km/h, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration.

On Wednesday, national flag carrier Philippine Airlines (Odette Advisory No. 2) announced the cancellation of the following flights from Thursday, December 16, 2021, to Friday, December 17, 2021:

PAL passengers who are affected of these cancellations can opt to convert their ticket value to travel credits, rebook or reroute their flight within 60 days of the original flight date, and refund without penalties.

Meanwhile, low-cost carrier Cebu Pacific has also cancelled flights. Based on Travel Advisory #4 (as of December 16 at 2:30pm), Cebu Pacific is cancelling the following flights from Thursday, December 16, 2021 to Friday, December 17, 2021:

For AirAsia passengers with cancelled flights or delayed longer than three hours, guests can opt for unlimited flight changes to any new date before December 31, 2021, on the same route. They can also choose to store the ticket value on a credit account, which can be redeemed within 730 days.
