The announcement poster, which was posted on Wednesday, contained some
familiar tourist attractions from two different places. Upon further research,
AUP found out the attractions in the photos may be located in Clark and Cebu.
Sunlight Air has been ramping up its operations since it received clearance
from government authorities to launch operations last month. The airline
dispatched its first commercial service on Christmas eve 2020, with a flight
from Manila to Busuanga.
In an interview with The Daily Tribune, Sunlight Air Chief Executive Officer
Ryna Brito revealed that "it's been good" for the company since their launch.
On a single flight on January 2, Brito said it flew 41 passengers, signaling
an improvement in the aviation industry amid COVID-19.
In February last year, Sunlight Air exclusively revealed to AUP their eyed
domestic routes: Manila or Clark to Busuanga, and Puerto Princesa. Moreover,
the airline also plans to launch flights to Siargao in the future as it
fulfills its duty to fly to underserved destinations.
The company currently operates a fleet of three ATR 72-500 aircraft. Once the
market improves, the airline's chief said Sunlight Air may acquire ATR 72-600
aircraft to support its growth.
