PAL ranks 9th in COVID-19 protocols

National flag carrier Philippine Airlines ranked ninth worldwide on the Safe
Travel Score criteria for its COVID-19 protocols.
Travel Weekly published an article on Wednesday bearing the result of the airline
rankings.
PAL scored 4.2 points out of 5 based on the criteria. The flag carrier is the
only Philippine air carrier in the Top 10.
On top of the rankings is German airline Lufthansa scoring 4.5 out of 5.
Vistara, Delta Airlines, and Allegiant Air come next at 4.2. Notably,
AirAsia Malaysia, aside from PAL, is the only Southeast Asian airline in the
top 10 as it scored 4.2.

In a Facebook post, PAL Spokesperson Cielo Villaluna said: "More than 150
airlines have been ranked on COVID-19 safety credentials based on Safe
Travel Barometer, an independent audit of the air journey, across
pre-boarding, boarding and onboard experiences."
PAL has developed and implemented enhanced safety measures to uphold consumer
confidence in the aviation sector. The flag carrier has installed health
facilities on its airports and has mandated the wearing of face masks and face
shields for its employees and passengers.
