Philippines AirAsia to offer more flights in July

Aviation Updates Philippines – Budget carrier Philippines AirAsia will offer more domestic flights as it announced the initial schedule for July 1 to July 15, 2020. However, the airline has not filed a restart for international flights contrary to what was previously planned.

Beginning July 1, 2020, AirAsia plans to resume services to Panglao, Iloilo, and Bacolod. Moreover, flights to Kalibo are slated on July 2, 2020. Flight frequencies to these airports remain limited due to the stringent health restrictions of local government units.

Available AirAsia flights from July 1 to July 15 (as of June 28, 2020).

These are atop the already operating flights to and from Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Puerto Princesa, Tacloban, and Clark. The low-cost airline has only released a schedule for the first two weeks of July; timetables would be updated in the coming days.

AirAsia flights have temporarily transferred from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 4 to Terminal 3 due to the suspension of operations until further notice.

Enhanced health and safety practices

Passengers are reassured of safety flying onboard AirAsia's domestic flights as it complies with regulations from the World Health Organization (WHO), government, and civil aviation authorities. Fortunately, as for the WHO, the risk of transmitting infectious diseases aboard aircraft remains low.

There will be numerous changes, in the interest of safety, onboard AirAsia flights. Passengers will now be required to wear face masks while the cabin crew wears full personal protective suits as part of AirAsia's enhanced safety procedures.

Inside the aircraft, the flight crew will be tasked to sanitize lavatories and "high-touch" areas frequently. The highly reliable High-Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) installed on every aircraft filters the air inside the cabin from dust particles and airborne contaminants.

Only chips, cookies, and room temperature beverages will be available for purchase to lessen physical contact in-flight. Hot meals will only be available pre-booked while merchandising for flights 75 minutes or more.
