PAL to offer 'distancing seats' starting July 1

Aviation Updates Philippines – National flag carrier, Philippine Airlines on Monday announced a new option for travelers ⁠— distancing seats ⁠— for all domestic and international flights beginning July 1, 2020.

According to PAL, the 'distancing seat' option will be available for reservations for premium economy and economy flex tickets. This new product will be available on all mainline PAL and PAL Express routes scheduled starting next month.

Sections of the aircraft cabin in the premium economy class and economy class areas will be designated for the distancing option. In these sections, an aisle or middle seat, depending on the aircraft type and the number of rows, will be left empty.

PAL said that the distancing option would not be an added fee or travel fee, but instead, it will be a new product available for premium economy and economy flex fares. For more information, guests may visit the airline's website at www.philippineairlines.com.

The flag carrier's newest innovation will reassure passengers of safety onboard PAL's worldwide flights. Aside from these distancing options, PAL continues to enforce stringent health measures: intensive cleaning on aircraft cabins, wearing of personal protective equipment (PPEs) for cabin crew, among others.
