Aviation Updates Philippines – Philippine Airlines has further delayed the official inaugural date of the Manila-Perth service resumption to late-October this year due to restrictions amid COVID-19.

Although flight schedules are subject to changes while the situation unfolds, reservations for the first flight to Perth, Australia are available through www.philippineairlines.com from October 26, 2020, onward. Hopefully, by this time, things return to normal.

The Perth-bound sector, PR-223, will be scheduled to depart from Manila at 12:05 am local time and to arrive in Perth at 7:20 am local time. PR-224 will then depart from Perth at 8:40 am local time and arrive back in Manila at 3:50 pm local time.

PAL's Airbus A321-271N, specifically designed and configured for long-haul narrowbody operations, will be utilized for the flight to Australia every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.

Similarly, the flag carrier has also deferred anew the planned Cebu-Los Angeles service resumption to June 2, 2020. The launch was originally scheduled on May 2, 2020, which has since been postponed.

Take note, flights from June 1, 2020, and beyond are not yet final while the airline continues to evaluate its route network post-COVID-19. As safety remains foremost, these may even be delayed or be brought forward depending on the travel appetite.

"We caution you that these plans are highly subject to change, depending on COVID-19 conditions: the duration of community quarantines, the status of travel bans and restrictions imposed by various governments and their impact on passenger demand, and above all on the public health and safety situation in each of the countries that PAL serves," PAL said in an advisory.
