Korean Air plans to increase flights this summer

Aviation Updates Philippines – Seoul-based Korean Air plans to resume some of its currently suspended international routes next month.

In an updated listing of routes from the airline's website, Korean Air is eyeing the resumption of flights starting June 1 from Seoul to select cities such as Washington DC, Seattle, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Beijing, and Kuala Lumpur.

Several of the cities the airline is currently serving will see a slight increase in frequencies include Atlanta, San Francisco, Chicago, Paris, London, and Singapore.

Flights to the Middle East, Australia, the Pacific (including Guam and Auckland), and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) will remain suspended.

While Korean Air's flight plans to Manila remain unchanged from the daily flights scheduled, it is abiding with the temporary ban on international arrivals set by the Philippine government for the week of May 3-9. The airline's flights to Cebu will remain suspended.

According to a report from The Korea Herald, the flights will also be used for cargo deliveries to help offset the decline in travel demand. Since March, the airline has reported it has cut 90% of its flights across its network amid the pandemic.

Currently operating a total of 55 flights weekly to 13 international routes, Korean Air's June schedule will see the services increase to 146 flights to 32 destinations.

The details about the international routes are as follows:
