Cebu Pacific Group to restart select domestic flights next week
Aviation Updates Philippines – On Saturday, the Philippines' leading budget carrier Cebu Pacific
Air plans to gradually restart operations by June 2, 2020, in a "phased,
agile" manner. Flights have been grounded since mid-March.
In its latest advisory, Cebu Pacific and Cebgo announced the first four
domestic routes on its catalog, which will run from June 2 to 4, 2020:
Manila-General Santos-Manila, Manila-Naga-Manila, Manila-Cagayan de
Oro-Manila, and Manila-Cebu-Manila.
However, the company will continue to suspend all international flights for
the rest of June. At the same time, Cebu Pacific has not released any flight
schedule for June 5 onward but reassured it will provide updates in the
coming days.
Cebu Pacific said: "We will gradually build-up our domestic flight network,
depending on market demand, quarantine restrictions and government
regulations," it said.
All flights from Manila will depart from the Ninoy Aquino International
Airport Terminal 3.
"We will continue to work with the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF), as well
as other national and local government authorities, on the rules and
requirements to resume commercial passenger flights between areas under
General Community Quarantine (GCQ)."
The airline also emphasized that leisure travel is still not allowed in the
Philippines per government guidelines. "Guests must check guidelines from
the IATF, and with the local governments of their origin and destination for
the required documents."
Cebu Pacific has recently rolled out "contactless flights" to guarantee a
safe and comfortable flight for passengers. These new measures include the
wearing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for staff and face masks for
passengers, rapid testing for flight crew prior, and intensified cleaning
procedures.
