Australian embassy mounts PH sweeper flights
Aviation Updates Philippines – Philippine Airlines will mount 12 sweeper flights to Cebu, Davao, and Manila on April 17, 2020, to fly Australian nationals in the request of the Australian Embassy in The Philippines.
To Cebu, PAL Express will operate 2P-4286 (Bacolod-Cebu), 2P-4774 (Tagbilaran-Cebu), 2P-4546 (Dumaguete-Cebu), 2P-4381 (Iloilo-Cebu), 2P-4237 (Tacloban-Cebu), 2P-4354 (Puerto Princesa-Cebu), and 2P-4369 (Caticlan-Cebu).
For the Manila-bound sector, PAL will operate PR-5854 (Cebu-Manila), PR-5860 (Cebu-Manila), and PR5814 (Davao-Manila), while PAL Express will fly 2P-4522 (Cagayan de Oro-Manila). On the other hand, PAL Express will also operate from Davao flight 2P-4392 (Siargao-Davao).
PAL, on Saturday, will mount a special flight to and from Melbourne on-board an Airbus A330-300 aircraft. Flight PR-209 will depart from Manila at 8:30 pm local time and will arrive at Melbourne at 6:30 pm local time. The return flight, PR-210, will depart from the Australian city the next day at 8:00 am local time and will be back in Manila at 2:40 pm local time.
The embassy is reminding its nationals who are booked on these flights to get in touch with the Department of Tourism and the Department of Health to secure necessary travel permits. Passengers are also requested to be at the airport at least three hours from the intended time of departure.
