Philippines AirAsia will once again serve southern Vietnam as flights are scheduled to commence on March 20, 2020. Flights will be on-board the airline's 180-seat Airbus A320-200 aircraft flying thrice weekly.

Flight Z2-294 will depart from Manila every Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday at 10:25 pm and will arrive in Ho Chi Minh City at 1:05 am. The return flight, Z2-295, will depart from Ho Chi Minh City every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 1:35 am and will arrive back in Manila at 5:20 am.

The route was previously inaugurated on November 17, 2017, as part of AirAsia's commitment to primarily serve the ASEAN region. AirAsia is the only airline that proudly flies directly to all ten Asean member states.

Ho Chi Minh City, formerly known as Saigon, offers a vibrant atmosphere with plentiful French colonization-era buildings. The city is also dubbed as the financial capital of Vietnam as it houses the headquarters to the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange. It boasts a wide range of restaurants offering various Vietnamese local dishes that are famous to tourists.
