China Southern introduces Shenzhen-Manila flights

Aviation Updates Philippines – Chinese carrier China Southern Airlines plans to add a non-stop, direct service between Manila, Philippines and Shenzhen, China in time for the summer season's peak travel rush.

A post from Routesonline revealed that China Southern filed to operate flights between Shenzhen and Manila starting March 29, 2020. Flights will operate daily.

China Southern will utilize its Airbus A321 fleet configured between 179 to 195 passengers in a tri-class configuration depending on the specific aircraft to be operated. The airline, however, did not specify if the aircraft will be an Airbus A321-200 or the newer Airbus A321neo.

Flight CZ-8039 departs from Shenzhen at 10:00 pm local time and arrives in Manila at 1:05 am local time the next day. The return flight, CZ-8040, departs from Manila at 3:40 am local time and eventually arrives back in Shenzhen at 6:10 am local time.

Currently, China Southern flies between Manila and Guangzhou, China 24 times a week on-board the Boeing 737-800 and Airbus A330-300 aircraft.

Shenzhen is a Chinese city located in the south of Guangdong Province with a population of more than 13 million citizens. The coastal city, dubbed as "China's Silicon Valley", is home to various big-time tech companies which makes it a center of innovation for China. It boasts a magnificent skyline, best viewed at night, brought by its booming economy.
