Cebu Pacific announces Manila-Shenzhen flights
Aviation Updates Philippines – The Philippines' leading low-cost carrier, Cebu Pacific Air, revealed plans to extend its reach into the Chinese market with the introduction of the Manila-Shenzhen route on July 1.
“Shenzhen is the fifth Cebu Pacific destination in mainland China, and is the airline’s 27th international destination. The carrier had earlier stated it is looking to expand in North Asia, including opening significant new routes and possible new destinations in China,” the airline said in a press release.
Cebu Pacific took this opportunity to immediately cope with the increasing demand in leisure and business travels in mainland China. The said country hosts most of the airline's operations in North Asia—making it a significant market for them.
The overnight flight, operating as 5J-5226, will depart from Manila at 11:55pm (UTC+8) and will arrive in Shenzhen at 2:35am (UTC+8) the next day. After a one-hour turnaround, the aircraft will then depart from the Chinese city as 5J-5227 at 3:40am and will eventually arrive back in Manila at 6:20am.
The new non-stop service between the two destinations will fly every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday on-board the Airbus A320-200 aircraft.
