Teenager endures flight to Hawaii in aircraft's landing gear

In a remarkable tale of survival, a 16-year-old stowaway endured a grueling 5-hour and 30-minute journey on a Boeing 767 from San Jose, California to Maui, Hawaii. The audacious teen spent the entirety of Hawaiian Airlines Flight 45 concealed in the aircraft's landing gear.

The aircraft cruised at an altitude of 38,000 feet where temperatures plummeted to a chilling -62 degrees Celsius. Medical experts have likened the teen's survival to a miracle, stating that under such extreme conditions, a human heart would only beat sporadically.

An aviation expert compared the experience of being in the landing gear to the harsh conditions atop Mount Everest.

Upon landing in Maui, the teen was unconscious for approximately an hour. Regaining consciousness, he emerged from his hiding place and began wandering around the airport grounds.

Despite the serious breach of security, officials have decided not to press charges against the teen. Instead, he has been placed under the care of child protective services.

The audacious journey began when the 16-year-old managed to scale the fence of San Jose airport undetected, before making a beeline for the aircraft.
