All Nippon Airways considers direct Davao-Japan flights – In a recent development, All Nippon Airways (ANA), a leading airline based in Japan, is contemplating the introduction of direct flights between Davao and Japan. This decision is contingent upon the demand for passenger travel to and from Davao City.

The airline's consideration of direct flights is also dependent on the approval of the proposed Davao-Japan Tourism Development and Investment Promotion Council. This council aims to bolster tourism and investment between the two regions.

Currently, passengers traveling from Japan to Davao often rely on connecting flights from Manila or Cebu. These flights are serviced by three major airlines: Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific, and Japan Airlines.

However, for the direct flights to be viable, there is a need to enhance Davao City's tourism appeal to attract more international tourists. Davao City is home to numerous tourist attractions, including the Philippine Eagle Nature Center, Davao Crocodile Park, Eden Nature Park, and People's Park.

Among these attractions, Mt. Apo and the Island Garden City of Samal, renowned for its numerous beach resorts, are the most popular with tourists. The potential for direct flights could further boost tourism to these destinations and contribute to the city's economic growth.
