"We’ve already applied. We applied this month for flights to Haneda," announced AirAsia Zest CEO Alfredo Yao, as quoted by ABS-CBN News. This exciting development comes on the heels of the Philippines regaining its Category 1 safety rating from the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) after being downgraded in 2008.

Previously, strict safety regulations imposed by Japan limited the number of flights allowed from Philippine airlines. However, a recent air services agreement reached between the two countries has significantly increased weekly flight allocations, paving the way for AirAsia Zest's Haneda expansion.

With its fleet of Airbus A320 aircraft and reputation for budget-friendly travel, AirAsia Zest's entry into the Haneda market promises to shake things up. Filipino travelers and businesspeople can now look forward to enjoying more competitive fares and convenient flight options for their trips to Japan.
