Butuan Airport back to normal operations after Cebu Pacific incident

Operations at Butuan Airport have returned to normal after the removal of a Cebu Pacific airplane that had skidded off the runway on Saturday morning.

The aircraft, an Airbus A319-100, is currently parked near the gate after being cleared from the runway shortly after 9 a.m. on Sunday.

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines had suspended all traffic at the airport since Saturday morning. This action was taken after the nose wheel gear of the A319 plane ended up on a grassy area at the end of the runway during taxiing for departure.

Despite the incident, which took place just after 10 a.m., none of the 105 passengers, two pilots, or four cabin crew members reported any injuries. All flights to and from Butuan were cancelled on Saturday as a result.

As of 3 p.m. on Sunday, operations at the airport have fully resumed and are functioning as normal.
