Aircraft engine manufacturer Rolls-Royce has announced a significant investment in its engine assembly, test, and shop visit capacity in the UK and Germany. The move is aimed at addressing the growing long-term demand for new civil large engines and improving customer aftermarket support services for its global Trent fleet.
The company plans to invest £55 million into its facilities in Derby, UK, and Dahlewitz, Germany. This investment will enable the Derby facility to produce 40% more engines per year by 2025. Meanwhile, the Dahlewitz site will transition to large engine testing and eventual assembly.
In addition to the financial investment, Rolls-Royce also plans to recruit more than 300 operations staff across the two sites. This move will enhance the company’s capacity to meet increasing engine demand and improve servicing capacity.

We are ready to support our continued growth in the widebody market – delivering even greater availability, reliability, and efficiency.
This announcement comes as Rolls-Royce forecasts an annual growth of 7-9% of Rolls-Royce-powered aircraft for the remainder of this decade.
